The Code - with Antonio Banderas and Morgan Freeman - Not Bad, Not Good - Read a book while it was on.
The Gamer - Gerald Butler - Shoot me for watching 5 minutes of it. It was horrible.
The Hangover - OH MY GOD. I never laughed so much in my whole life - through the whole movie. My son was looking at me like I was deranged and/or psychotic. You must see this if you want a good laugh.
Law Abiding Citizen - Gerald Butler and Jaimee Fox. The movie was good. I hated the ending.

The Beloved Works of C. S. Lewis
C.S. Lewis was a famous fiction writer and atheist turned Christian theologian.
Clive Staples Lewis (29 November 1898 – 22 November 1963), commonly referred to as C. S. Lewis and known to his friends and family as Jack, was an Irish-born British[1] novelist, academic, medievalist, literary critic, essayist, lay theologian and Christian apologist. He is also known for his fiction, especially The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia and The Space Trilogy.
Lewis was a close friend of J. R. R. Tolkien, and both authors were leading figures in the English faculty at Oxford University and in the informal Oxford literary group known as the "Inklings" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C._S._Lewis).
Some of my favorite quotes of his are:
"I know all about despair of overcoming chronic temptations. It is not serious, provided self-offended petulance, annoyance at breaking records, impatience, etc, don't get the upper hand. No amount of falls will really undo us if we keep on picking ourselves each time. We shall of course be very muddy and tattered children by the time we reach home, but the bathrooms will be ready, the towels put out, and the clean clothes in the cupboard. The only fatal thing is to lose one's temper and give it up. It is when we notice the dirt that God is most present in us; it is the very sign of his presence. (Readings for the Year)
"In words which can still bring tears to the eyes, St. Augustine describes the desolation in which the death of his friend Nebridius plunged him (Confessions, IV, 10). The he draws a moral. That is what comes, he says , of giving one's heart to anything but God. All human beings pass away. Do not let your happiness depend on something you may lose. If love is to be a blessing, not a misery, it must be for the only Beloved who will never pass away." (The Four Loves)
"Do not waste time bothering whether you 'love' your neighbor, act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find on of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him. If you injure someone you dislike, you will find yourself disliking him more....But whenever we do good to another self, just because it is a self, made (like us) by God, and desiring its own happiness as we desire ours, we shall have learned to love it a little more or, at least, dislike it less... (Mere Christianity)
"Everyone says forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive....For a long time I used to think this a silly, straw splitting distinction; how could you hate what a man did and not hate the man? But years later it occurred to me that there was one man to whom I have been doing this all my life - namely myself. However much I might disliked my own cowardice or conceit or greed, I went on loving myself. There had never been the slightest difficult about it. In fact the very reason why I hated the things was that I loved the man. Just because I loved myself, I was sorry to find that I was the sort of man who did those things." (Mere Christinity)
"Let the pictures tell you their own moral," he once advised writers of children's stories. "But if they don't show you any moral, don't put one in."
and lastly:
He Himself Wept Not
Then the cold hours began their march again, not worse,
Not better, never ending. And the night he came,
Out of the doorway's curtained darkness to the flace
Of candlelight and firelight. And the curtains fell
Behind him and they stood alone, with all to tell,
Not like the Launcelot tangled in the boughs of May
Long since, nor like the Guinever he kissed that day,
But he was pale, with pity in his face writ wide,
And she a haggard woman, holding to her side
A pale hand pressed, asking "What is it?" Slowly then
He came to her and took her by the hand, as men
Take tenderly a daughter's or a mother's hand
To whom they bring bad news she will not understand.
So Launcelot let the Queen and made her sit: and all
This time he saw her shoulders move and her tears fall
And he himself wept not, but sighed. Then, like a man
Who ponders, in the fire he gazed, and so began
Presently looking away in the fire, the tale
Of his adventures seeking the Holy Grail.
(Launcelot)
Perhaps, it may be that ONLY I enjoy his writings,
Susan

Blood Fever - Karen Moning - 2007

Blood Fever - Karen Moning - 2007
This is the 2nd in Karen Moning's Sihde-Seer series. The story continues on with MacKayla Lane's life in Ireland. In the first book, Mac goes to Ireland to find out about her sister's murder. Once she arrives, she realizes that that she can see FAE or fairy and is what is considered a sidle-seer. She falls under the protection of Jericho Barrons who has mysterious powers himself.
The 2nd book, BloodFever, continues on with their quest to find the Sinsar Dubh -a million year old book of the blackest magic. A few more characters are introduced including other sihde-seers and Christian MacKeltar. The Clan Mackelter men are the subject of Moning's Highlander series. It will interesting to see how she ties a MacKelter male into the Sidhe-Seer series.
The book was interesting and I enjoy all of Karen Moning's writings. The fantasy was a 'bit out there' as in part of the story Mac is beaten by Malluce and found dying by Jericho Barrons. In order to save her own life, Mac realizes that she needs to eat the flesh of the Unseeling. In my opinion, none of this story line was necessary for the plot to be exciting. Moning could have kept this part of the story line out of the book and developed Mac's capture by Malluce differently.
The series is being considered for a TV/movies series and it likens to the "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" series.
These are books that you can let a young teen read. There is some sexual reference but none that would preclude a young reader from enjoying the series. I plan to share the books with my teen-age nieces.
I enjoyed the books. Jericho Barron's is always mysterious and elusive so I read much of both books to see how his character develops.
Enjoy,
Susan

Nauti Deceptions - Lora Leigh - 2010

Nauti Deceptions - Lora Leigh
Let me just say that I have never been disappointed by any book written by Lora Leigh. She is one of the best erotica romance writers that I have read.
This book is the fourth in a series about men and women residing in Somerset County somewhere in Kentucky.
The first three books were based on the Mackay brothers. The brothers are very hot, hot Marine veterans who on occasion contract work to Homeland Security. The fourth book is based on Alex Jensen, who was a special forces veteran also working occasionally for Homeland Security. Throughout each of these previous books were got a glimpse of Sheriff Zeke. The fifth book, Nauti Deceptions, has Sheriff Zeke as the main character.
Nauti Deceptions can be read without reading the other four books in the series.
As I said, the main character is Sheriff Zeke along with Rogue. The description that Lora Leigh gives of Sheriff Zeke through the whole book left me pretty much 'breathless.' I was going to say 'panting' but breathless seemed more lady like.
Of course the cover picture added to the breathlessness. Wait, Wait, what was I talking about? Was I talking? Sorry, I was drooling over the front cover!
Sheriff Zeke has been attracted to Rogue for years ever since he met her as his son's teacher. Zeke is about 10 years older than Rogue and stays away from her for that reason. Rogue has the same mutual attraction and has not been shy about letting Sheriff Zeke know about them. She was a teacher who was drugged and had pornographic pictures taken of her and posted to the internet. She was fired from her job and to show the townspeople that she was not ashamed, she opened a biker bar in the town. She, suprisingly, has stayed a virgin. There have been 3 murders in town and Zeke is afraid that Rogue will be targeted next as the murdered people were relatives of Rogue.
In protecting Rogue, they both find that they cannot fight the sexual chemistry and attraction. And then the fun begins!
Again, I enjoy everyone of Lora Leigh's books. They all have a plausible plot and the erotic writing is excellent. The only disappointment I have in this book is Lora Leigh kept referring to Sheriff's Zeke's dark tendencies towards sex. In reading what they were, I did not find that they were 'dark' but quite normal and natural. I am not sure where she was going with this theme.
Good Book! Hot Alpha men! You have to love them!
Read it!
Enjoy,

The Ghost War - Alex Berenson - 2008

The Ghost War - Alex Berenson
The is the first book that I have read by this author. This book was a good book. No, this book was an excellent book! This was one of the best spy thrillers that I have read in a long time. It was so good that I put away "Nauti Deceptions" to read it!
I was fascinated and pulled into the story from the very first chapter. I had thought initially that it would take days to read as it not a book that I would normally read for entertainment but it was fast paced and suspenseful. I could imagine a movie on the book somewhat similar to the Bourne series based on the adventures of John Wells.
The main character is a CIA agent who had infiltrated a terrorist cell for 10 years. He was deemed a hero when he killed a terrorist in NYC. That adventure was covered in Berenson's previous book, "The Faithful Spy". Wells is known around the world as "Time Square Wells" for his heroic act. Wells is a tortured soul suffering from extreme PTDS. He lives with and is involved with Jennifer Exley, a fellow CIA agent.
The book begins with suspense as three CIA agent work to recover a North Korean scientist turned spy for the United States called the "Broker." From there it is action packed, testosterine filled and enough intrigue and suspense to keep me turning page after page. In the book, Wells deals with the grips of PTSD, combat in Afganistan and capture, torture and escape from China. In all this we get a glimpse of his growing love for Exley.
You can tell that Berenson committed a lot of time and effort into his research and the scenario he created in the book is plausible, credible and possible given today's headlines.
This book is definite major movie material. I will definitely read "The Faithful Spy" and subsequent stories based on John Well's character.
Of course you know I would have to find at least one chapter related to romance and intimacy. It wasn't until page 318 that I found it!
"Well's didn't bother to ask what she thought. Without another word, he rolled onto her, his size surprising her, as it always did. He enveloped her, his mouth on hers, wet-opened mouthed kisses. He never asked permission, she thought. He never needed to. His big hands gripped her waist, then one was unbuttoning her jeans, the other pulling them off her hips. And as quickly as that, she forgot she was tired."
That brought on a sigh or two.
That was all the romance to be found in the book and I still could not put it down.
Definitely read it!
In retrospect, I wish I had read "The Faithful Spy" first to know more about the main character, John Wells.
Enjoy,
Susan

If He's Sinful - Hannah Howell - 2009

If He's Sinful - Hannah Howell
Oh, these books with these covers. It is difficult to pull my gaze from them and open the book! I have to remind myself to breathe! Breathe Susan and move on to the review.....
This is the first book I read by by Hannah Howell in her series of historical romances.
The main characters are Lady Penelope and Lord Ashton. Lady Penelope comes from the Wherelocke family. The members of this family has been gifted with paranormal ability. Lady Penelope has the ability to see people who are deceased. She can also touch something that belong to the deceased person and see what happened to that person. The beginning chapter finds Lady Penelope kidnapped, drugged and chained to a bed in a brothel. While chained to the bed, she sees a shadowy figure(dead person) in the corner telling her to beware. Lady Penelope wonders who she is being sacrificed to. To her suprise,in walks Lord Ashton. Lord Ashton is bethrothed to Lady Penelope's only because he is near destitute and he can get a hefty dowry from marrying the cousin. Unbeknownst to Lord Ashton, Lady Penelope has had a crush on Lord Ashton for a while.
Lord Ashton does not realize it is his bethothed's cousin in the bed. He is being "gifted" with a girl by his friends before his wedding. He is under the impression that the woman is a paid prostitute. In the mean time, Penelope's brothers arrive
to rescue her and Lord Ashton realizes that she is not a prostitute but a lady placed in dire circumstances.
With the help of her brothers, Lady Penelope is safety deposit back home. Lord Ashton's curiosity is piqued and the plot thickens.
As far a plot and story line goes, this one was interesting. The author had well developed characters, a good story line with twists and bumps and as an added benefit, characters with paranormal activity.
I enjoyed reading this book. I did buy it and am not unhappy with the purchase.
Enjoy,
Susan

Halliburton's War - Pratap Chatterjee - 2009
.jpg)
This is not a book that I would gravitate to. In fact, in order to get me to read it, one would have had to hog tie me and then prod me with an electrical cattle prod. In fact as far as political standing goes, I am neither left nor right. This booked piqued my interest after I read the statement below.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Halliburton is the only company mentioned by Osama bin Laden in an April 2004 tape in which he claims that "this is a war [in Afghanistan] that is benefiting major companies with billions of dollars. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halliburton)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Really, what other American company has been mentioned by the most sought after terrorist in world history.
I can give neither an opinion for or against the book but will say that some information presented was eye opening. I will reference one statement in the book that caused some 'gut' reactions for no better use of words.
The book also gives some history of Halliburton and it's ties to LBJ, Rumsfield, Cheney and the Bush administrations. Much of the monies made by Halliburton are made in supplying low paid personnel in Afghanistan and Iraq for transportation, food service and other services. Most companies they sub-constract are foreign countries. According to this book, employees of these companies are paid wages so low that they are unable to reasonably support themselves.
The following statement caused a 'gut' reaction:
"What we have today is an all-volunteer army, unlike in a consription army when they had to be there. In the old army, the standard of living was low, the pay scale was dismal; it wasn't fun; it wasn't intended to be fun. But today, we have to appeal, we have to recruit, just like any corporation, we have to recruit off the street. And after we get them to come in, it behooves us to give them a reason to stay in."
There are some creature comforts in this Walmart and McDonald's society that we live in that soldiers have come to expect. They expect to play Xbox, to keep in touch by email. They expect to eat a variety of foods".....and get lobster and steak. Our soldiers need to feel and believe that we care about them, or they will leave. The army cannot afford to allow the soldier to be disenfranchised.
I have to stop right here. When did military service become franchised and not about honor, duty and commitment. I don't think that any soldier in either Afganistan or Iraq as they put their lives on the line give one thought to the an XBOX or email. They may be perks that they have opportunity to use, but I am of the opinion that,if they have given any thought of either, it is because they are tied to memories of their families and loved ones they left at home. Franchise my...!(you get my point)
In conclusion, next time my interest is piqued by a book such as this, please hit me in the head and drag me in the opposite direction. All this book did for me was make me angry and leave me wanting to go to the nearest Starbucks and find someone to argue left or right with.
Did I really need to read a book that had me thinking of quoting references?
I think not!

The Immortal Highlander - Karen Marie Moning - 2004

The Immortal Highlander - Karen Marie Moning
First let me state, emphatically, that Karen Marie Moning is one of my favorite authors of fantasy writing. The very first book I read was from the Highlander Series. I was captivated by her writing style ever since. Of course it does not hurt that the men in the book are extraordinarily handsome, brave, honorable, gallant and chivalrous Scottish Highlanders.
This particular book has two main characters. Adam, a fallen Prince of the Fae and Gabby, a lawyer who is a sidhe-seer (can see the Fae).
To summarize, Adam is being punished by the Queen of Fae for saving a Scottish Highlander Druid of the Kelter Clan. He is made human but invisible. Gabby, a sidhe-seer can see Adam. Adam, relentlessly pursues her because he needs her help in communicating with the Kelter Clan Druids so that they can help him communicate with the Queen of the Fae. Adam and Gabby are sexually attracted to each other and Adam is shocked by his human feelings for Gabby.
I have read many books based on fantasy and am not a big fan of them. I, however, am always captivated by Karen Moning's writing. Of course, it does help when she is so descriptive of her alpha male characters. Her descriptions of these men have me "wanting" and fantasizing on how I can brisk myself away to Scotland, run to the hills and capture my own Scottish Highlander.
I have a few favorite parts in her book. One, took me by suprise because in any other reading I would have found it perverse but in her writing, in my opinion, it was erotic. It goes like this:
'He wasn't certain that was a thing a woman could appreciate. Ah, but a man did. The soft, sweet sultry scent of a woman caught on a silky bit of fabric that slipped so intimately between her legs, rubbing against her, carrying that unique fragrance a woman only had there. A man couldn't breathe of such a scent behind a woman's ear or in the soft hollow of her throat or in the small of her back.
Only if he was her lover did a man get to know that scent."
So, given that, BREATHE!
Run out and Go get the book.
Do not hesitate to read any of Karen Moning's writings.
Enjoy,
Susan

The Book of Lies - Brad Meltzer

The Book of Lies - Brad Meltzer
Let me first say that I could not put this book down and finished it very quickly. The author very brilliantly narrated four different stories and pulled them all together to make one story. The main character throughout the book is Cal Harper. Cal is a thirty-something" disgraced former DEA agent. He is currently working at a shelter where he drives around picking up homeless people. Cal also witnessed the accidental death of his mother by his father. Cal's father Lloyd is a integral part in the story.
In short narrative, the four stories are about:
1. Cal and His life story
2. The story of Cain and Abel
3. The story of Ellis and the Leadership
4. The story of Mitchell Siegel, the father of the creator of the Superman
I won't go into much detail about how all these stories integrate because it is part of what drew me back chapter after chapter.
This is a must read book! I was amazed at how the author seamlessly pulled all the stories together.
Read the book and let me know what you think of the ending.
Enjoy,
Susan

Devilish - Jo Beverly - 2000 reissued 2006
Devilish - Jo Beverly
This is my first read by Jo Beverly. The main characters are Bey, the Marquis of Rothgar and Diana, an equal peer and the Countess of Arandale. We are first introduced to Bey as he is dueling for his sister-in-law's honor. He is cold, calculating and cunning. He is also a close friend and advisor to the King. Diana, a Countess is intelligent, educated and an extraordinary woman for her time. She is an expert archer, expert marksman and expert horsewoman and runs her family estate with grace and finesse.
The Marquis and Diana met previously and they have some history. Diana has asked the King to allow her to sit take her earldom's seat in the House of Lords. The King has asked the Marquis to escort her to his court to meet him. On their trip, there is adventure and a lot of mutual and instant attraction.
The story is lovely. I did enjoy it and finished the book without skipping pages. I admire any author that writes any novel that is based on historical facts. It has to take an enormous amount of research to present facts correctly. They always pique my curiosity and I find myself 'googling' all kinds of facts. This book very much enticed me to research the referenced historical facts for that period. Ms. Beverly did a good job in creating and describing her characters in detailed depth. I liked the book, the plot was good, the characters were interesting but sometimes I find novels based on historical facts convoluted and on occasion reading them become a chore. I had to put the book down, pause to reflect and then return. It was not a quick and easy read. It did pique my interest though and hold it and I enjoyed the book.
Rating - 6
I got the book from the library and would not buy it to keep. It is not a book that I would read again for enjoyment.
Thank You Jo Beverly.
Enjoy,
Susan

The Rogue and The Rival - Maya Rodale - 2008
The Rogue and The Rival - Maya Rodale
This is the first book that I have read by Maya Rodale.
This was a lovely book and I am glad that I took the time to read it.
The story is about Angela and and Phillip, the Marquis of Huntley. Angela has lived in an abbey for the past 6 years and has not been able to commit to taking her vows to become a nun. Angela was shunned by her parents when she was ruined by Lord Frost. Her parents disowned her and she had nowhere else to go but to the Abbey. She has been living with the shame that her family had placed on her and hiding from the world in that shame. Phillip was running away from a gambling debt and was shot near the abbey. He was brought wounded to the abbey and Angela was assigned the task of caring for him. She hates him because he is a man and a known philanderer, gambler and drunk. He ruined many a young womans virtue and left them in shame as Angela was left in shame. In caring for Phillip, Angela realizes that she could not hide her feelings as a woman. She tried to shut them down but she could not. All the while that she was at the Abbey, she prayed that God would give her a second chance and let her be loved by a good man. Phillip changes from being around Angela. It is quite remarkable and lovely to see this all enfold.
Ms. Rodale has done a remarkable job in creating her characters. So well that I became Angela while reading the book. What woman has not been shamed and hidden from that shame? What woman, after broken and damaged, has not cried out to God to give her a second chance and bring a hero?
I cheered for Phillip. He went from a selfish, self-centered, egotistical spoiled child to a man recognizing his character faults, fixing them and rising above it all. And in the end, changed from broken people to healed, love conquered all for these two characters!
Thank You Maya Rodale!
I am not even going to rate this but tell you if you want a good read, to get this book. It was lovely.
Enjoy,
Susan

Don't Bargain with the Devil - Sabrina Jeffries - 2009
Don't Bargain with the Devil - Sabrina Jeffries
The book is about a love affair between a Spanish Count and famous magician - Diego and a school teacher, Lucy. Lucy is 1/2 spanish and was raised by her father. Lucy works at a Ms. Harris' school for Young Ladies. Diego is pretending to buy the property next door to the school. Diego is really there to find the granddaughter of a rich Spanish Count. If he finds the granddaughter, the count will give him back his family property. Diego finds out that Lucy is the granddaughter and kidnaps her.
It is a lovely story and I believe that there is a series of stories with the setting of the school.

It was a nice love story to read.
I will have to get the rest from our local library as it is not a set of books that I would buy for later reading but it was a nice book to read.

Dangerous Highlander - Donna Grant - 2010
Dangerous Highlander - Donna Grant
The book is set in Scotland in 1603 and is about 3 brothers of the McLeod Clan who were turned into immortals. They each have a immortal God residing inside them and have been that way for 300 years. There are also other Highland warriors who have immortal Gods in them. The brothers are Quinn, Fallon and Lucan. This story is about Lucan. The brothers have been hiding for 300 years in their castle and have not been out of the castle and have not been around any people.
Clara lives in the nearby village and goes looking for some mushrooms near the castle. There is a storm and Lucan sees her outside on the end of the cliff by the sea and she is going to fall into the sea by accident. He releases his immortal god and saves her. She then lives with the 3 brothers because their enemy, destroyed Cara's village. The brother's enemy is also after Cara because she is a druid. The story goes on from there.
I started the book and finished it. I started to get into the whole plot which was leading up to the fight with the enemy and then it just ended with one brother taken. That was it! It left me hanging and I wish she did not end the story the way she did.
Rating - 5
I gave it a 5 rating because of the ending. I don't like that she left us hanging and we HAVE to get the next in the series to get a fairly good ending.
Enjoy,

The Switch - Lynsay Sands - 1999 reissue 2007
The Switch - Lynsay Sands
This is my first historical novel written by Lynsay Sands. I have read a few of her Agreneau and Rogue Hunter Series. I enjoyed everyone of those.
You must read "The Switch"! It was really a very entertaining book and had me laughing in some parts. The book's main characters are Charlie and Beth who are twins running away from being forced to marry against their will. They meet Lord Radcliffe who catches them escaping through a window from an inn. Here is the good part. Charlie and Beth are twin sisters but Charlie is dressed as a man and has everyone fooled into believing that they are really twin brother and sister. There are some funny parts and they had me giggling because I could just picture what they were doing!
I loved loved the book and I am still smiling thinking of the cute and funny parts!
Thanks Lynsay Sands!
Rating - 10
I got it from the library and am glad that I picked it up!
Enjoy some giggles and smirks,

DarkFever - Karen Marie Moning
DarkFever - Karen Moning
MacKayla Lane’s life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she’s your perfectly ordinary twenty-first-century woman. Or so she thinks…until something extraordinary happens.
When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death–a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone–Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask. She is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to learn how to handle a power she had no idea she possessed–a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae….
As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho, a man with no past and only mockery for a future. As she begins to close in on the truth, the ruthless Vlane–an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women–closes in on her. And as the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac’s true mission becomes clear: find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book–because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control of the very fabric of both worlds in their hands. . . .
This is the official synopsis of the book. I got the book because I am an avid fan of Karen Moning. I have read all in her highlander series and once I get a Karen Moning Book, I cannot put it down. She pulls you into the book and you FALL IN LOVE with her MALE characters - all of them. Wishing and hoping and praying that these men can be the one for you!
I love all Karen Monings BOOKS........

Where the Heart Leads - Stephanie Laurens - 2008
Where the Heart Leads - Stephanie Laurens
This is the first book that I have read by Stephanie Laurens. It is from a series called 'The Casebook of Barnaby Adair. The two main characters are Penelope Ashford and Barnaby Adair. Penelope is from a weathy family and has decided to be her own woman, not marry and volunteers a lot of her time at an orphanage. BArnaby Adair, also wealthy and a noble, solves many crimes as a hobby on the side. He is so good that Scotland Yard usually goes to him for assistance.
Penelope decides to go to Barnaby to ask for his help as four orphans destined for the orphanage have disappeared. Barnaby is intrigued by her boldness, beauty and intelligence. They set out on an adventure together while trying to solved the disappearances.
The book was very detailed and it was a good book. The characters had depth and the story line was believable and very detailed. Barnaby and Penelope have a torrid love affair. So, I had to ask myself, if all this was presented in the book, why was I skipping pages. I normally do not do that! I just could not get into the story.
Rating - 6
I bought the book. I am not sure if I would read another of the series.
Enjoy,
Susan
